ancy a taster of Greece The mountainous island of Samos is just across the water from Kusadasi and provides a great snapshot of another country and culture. And on this trip, you’ll catch a ferry to the capital, Samos Town. Set around a horseshoe bay, it’s a charming place with a bustling harbourfront, shop-filled streets and an interesting archaeological museum. Once you’re here, it’s up to you what to do. Head for the main square to stock up with souvenirs before the afternoon siesta. 

This lively area is choc-full of boutiques and shops selling Samiot wine and other local treats. Stroll along the quayside, sipping frappes at the cafés and watching the boats. Or take time out at the nearby pebble beach or rooftop pool at the harbourside Samos Hotel. You’ve got time to cast your net wider, too. The fishing port of Pythagorion is close by. The birthplace of Pythagoras, this pretty town has cobbled lanes and ancient ruins that will easily fill your time before your return ferry.

Ferry Out: 09:00. Depending on the weather conditions it takes around 1 Hour 30 Minutes to get to Samos.
• At Samos the guest have 6 hours 30 minutes of free time.
• The Tunnel of Eupalinos can be visited from the town of Pythagoreion. This is a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of town and is well signposted.
• Temple of Hera (Heraion of Samos), (6 km southwest of the ancient city) can be visited.
• There are beaches, both sandy and shingle, all around the coast so swimming and sunbathing are popular activities.
• Walk the coastal path from Gagkou Beach through beautiful flora and see the crystal clear coves.
• For transport, The island has buses and there are numerous rental agencies near the port in the city of Samos which rent out cars, motorbikes, scooters and quadbikes.
• The ferry out of Samos at 17:00.
